Dr. Claire Tynan

Dr. Claire Tynan is an experienced doctor with many years of postgraduate clinical experience and is joining Foxrock Clinic for the final year of her specialist training in General Practice.
Claire graduated in Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2018. She subsequently gained extensive postgraduate experience across a broad range of hospital specialties, including Emergency Medicine, General Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Medical Oncology, Hepatology, Nephrology, Medicine for Older People, Neurology, and Head and Neck Medicine. She has also worked as a Registrar in Radiation Oncology.
Claire commenced her specialist GP training with the Trinity College Dublin GP Training Scheme in 2023 and is now completing the fourth and final year of her postgraduate training. This is the final stage of her training before becoming a specialist General Practitioner.
In addition to her medical degree, Claire holds a Master of Science in Medical Physics from NUI Galway and previously completed a Bachelor of Science in General Science with double honours in Experimental Physics and Mathematical Physics. She also holds qualifications as an Emergency Medical Technician.
Claire has an interest in paediatric medicine and has been involved in clinical audit and research, including an audit of adherence to paediatric emergency department guidelines which was presented at the Irish Paediatric Emergency Medicine Meeting.
Outside of medicine, Claire has been a member of the Irish Coast Guard, Greystones Unit since 2011, where she has held roles including Advanced Search and Rescue Coxswain, Cliff Instructor, Search Manager and Unit Training Officer.
Claire brings a broad range of postgraduate clinical experience to Foxrock Clinic, together with a calm, friendly and patient-centred approach to general practice.
